The Nokia 6.1 was already one of the best Android smartphones under $300, but its recent $70 discount on Amazon now makes it one of the best smartphones under $200.
The discount brings the Nokia 6.1 down to $199.99. That is a pretty good price for a phone that features a 5.5-inch display with 1080p resolution, rear 16-megapixel camera, front 8MP sensor, Snapdragon 630, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of expandable storage, and 3,000mAh battery. The Nokia 6.1 also sports a USB Type-C port and a headphone jack.
More importantly, the Nokia 6.1 is one of a growing number of smartphones that is part of Google’s Android One program. That means you get a clean build of Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box, along with timely security patches and major updates. At the time of this writing, the Nokia 6.1 has already received its update to Android 9 Pie. The phone will also eventually receive Android Q.
Keep in mind that the $70 discount only applies to the Black variant of the Nokia 6.1; the White variant remains at the original $269.99 price. Also, you can use two SIM cards at the same time if you decide you do not need additional storage.
Finally, we do not know when Amazon will stop offering the $70 discount. As such, we recommend picking up the Nokia 6.1 if you are on the hunt for an affordable smartphone with a clean build of Android.
