PUBG finally lands on PS4 December 7

Winner Winner, Chicken Dinner.

After a long stretch of time as an Xbox One console exclusive, PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds — shortened to PUBG in most texts — is headed to PlayStation 4, Sony has announced. The game will launch December 7, 2018 on the platform.

While PUBG wasn't the first game in the growing Battle Royale genre, it was the first to make a sizable splash in the gaming world. It enjoyed unmatched success on PC and quickly became one of Xbox One's most popular games upon launching. The the unaware, Battle Royale games place you into a map with a number of other players (100, in the case of PUBG) to see if you can survive to become the last one standing.

Having been developed on PC and Xbox One to date, PS4 gamers will be introduced to the game in a far more current form than other platforms were. PUBG's three maps — Erangel, Miramar, and Sanhok — will be available from the start, while Vikendi, a winter-themed map, will arrive in time for the winter.

You'll be able to buy the game in either disc or digital form, with several editions available for those interested. You can buy the base game without any extras if you want, but the Survivor's Edition ($60) gives you 2,300 G-Coin and 20,000 BP, the game's 2 digital currencies used for unlocking new skins and items. You'll also get the Vikendi Event Pass which rewards you with items as you earn XP. The Champion's Edition ($90) is the same as the Survivor's, only you get 6,000 G-Coin instead.

Pre-order the game and you'll get some really cool things for your character, including a Nathan Drake Desert Outfit, and Ellie's backpack from The Last Of Us. Pre-orderers will also receive an exclusive avatar and dashboard theme to use on their PS4. You can pre-order the game at Amazon starting today.
